Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation
With one of the largest programmatic gifts in the history of CU Anschutz, the Denver-based Johnson Foundation ushered in a new era for the CU Depression Center, creating unprecedented opportunities for CU to expand its offerings of patient-centered, team-based mental health services for the people of Colorado and beyond.
The Johnson Foundation’s investment will impact countless lives by helping eliminate the stigma associated with mood and anxiety disorders, and will support behavioral health services, telehealth efforts, outreach and education programs, and vital research initiatives.
Established in 2008, the CU Depression Center is designed to change the status quo in terms of how people with mood disorders are treated and served. The
Depression Center’s mission is to raise awareness, promote effective treatments, and eliminate barriers to quality care and healthy communities. It was renamed the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center in 2015 to recognize the Johnson Foundation’s transformational commitment.
“Our family foundation is honored to help elevate the conversation about mental health in Colorado, and we hope this gift inspires greater giving and understanding.”
